FPI has not been carried out on these nuts since ISO5858:1999 does not specify this test for Acceptance (only for Qualification).
To be honest, I feel uncomfortable with that.
Almost all aerospace free running and self-locking nuts technical specifications do require this test for Acceptance with 0.065% AQL, which means that this test is important to check if we have any cracks, seams on parts.
Anyway, just something to point out and ISO5858 should be revised accordingly.
