In QTR, all bolts have been tensile tested “without rupture” whereas in CoC, the same bolts have broken under head (“ST” in CoC means head failure and actual tensile values are the same in CoC and QTR).
Could you please clarify?
Recess removal torque test: in QTR, minimum torque applied is equal to 2,7 N.m.
As per ISO9152, table 9, minimum torque to be applied for ISO MJ4 shall be 3,6 N.m.
Could you please fix this?
Many thanks in advance,
Best regards
Julien
1/ The rupture mode specified on the qualification report is an error, it has been updated in Issue 3.
2/ The torque given in ISO9152 refers to a recess code that we find in ISO14276 Table 2 (which replaces ISO7994 quoted on the EN3304 plan). The drive code for a reduced 100° countersunk head with a diameter of 4 is R3, hence the requirement of 2.7 N.m
Thank you.
Best regards.
Nicolas
Many thanks Nicolas, it’s clear.
Approved from my side.
