Conditions to approve EN4604-010 cables under technical specification EN4604-001:
– Test file EN3475-513 (Tie Straps): Attenuation up to 6 GHz (dB/100 m). It says “lengths too short to have reliable measurements”. What does that mean for product conformity?
– Test file EN3475-515 (Crush Resistance): Attenuation to several Frequencies. It says “lengths too short to have reliable measurements”. What does that mean for product conformity?
– Test file EN3475-502 – Notch propagation test has not been performed but justified by analogy with older tests. Please provide ASD-CERT with the results of those tests.
answer to the comments/conditions has been provided by Nexans
validation can be provided

o Concerning these two points, the question has been raised by Martin Russell during the KW (qualification 586) file review. Attached is the answer that has been validated.
– Test file EN3475-502 – Notch propagation test has not been performed but justified by analogy with older tests. Please provide ASD-CERT with the results of those tests.
o This test has finally been done during industrialization phase. The results are available in test report 1131_18, related to FAI tests results.
I have reviewed the answers from Nexans to my conditions.

I am OK with the above answer.

The report 1131_18 related to FAI during industrialization phase shows that the notch propagation test was done in 2002, which is more than 1 year after the present qualification.
ASD-CERT Quality Manual issued 19/12/2017 states in chapter ACP-004 page 35:
“In case of Qualification by Analogy : (see ACP 001 special condition) This demonstration shall be written by the auditor and submitted to the TFP thru his/her ACP-005 form 2 report ;
– Tests referenced for analogy must have been performed less than one year ago;
– Analogy is conducted for a whole group of tests and not only for a particular test;
– Qualification by analogy must show each result value of the test and not a mention “pass/fail” alone which is not sufficient to pronounce the qualification;”
I would be OK to approve the report based on a statement from Nexans that if the notch propagation test would have been performed today, it would have given successful results as for the test done in 2002.
Thanking you in advance
Cordialement.
