  1. EN2874-050: FPI: sample size should be 200 parts instead of 50. However, this batch is dated 2016. At that date, LISI’s interpretation of ISO2859 sampling plan was different. Now, it is clear. Just something to point out.
EN2874-100: EN2874-100010P bolts are too short to be fatigue and double shear tested. Shall we have a chance to get results from similar parts or longer EN2874-100 bolts?
    EN3444H050:
EN3444H050003 bolts are too short to be fatigue and double shear tested. Shall we have a chance to get results from similar parts or longer EN3444-050 bolts?
FPI: sample size should be 200 parts instead of 80. However, this batch is dated 2018. At that date, LISI’s interpretation of ISO2859 sampling plan was different. Now, it is clear. Just something to point out.
    EN3444-060:
EN3444-060004 bolts are too short to be fatigue and double shear tested. Shall we have a chance to get results from similar parts or longer EN3444-060 bolts?
FPI: sample size should be 200 parts instead of 80. However, this batch is dated 2014. At that date, LISI’s interpretation of ISO2859 sampling plan was different. Now, it is clear. Just something to point out.

    EN3444D080:
EN3444D080 bolts have spit pin holes in threaded area. Could you please confirm that no completion of fatigue test is linked to the presence of this split pin hole?
FPI: sample size should be 100% instead of 20. However, this batch is dated 2016. At that date, LISI’s interpretation of ISO2859 sampling plan was different. Now, it is clear. Just something to point out.
    EN4134H060:
FPI: sample size should be 200 parts instead of 80. However, this batch is dated 2011. At that date, LISI’s interpretation of ISO2859 sampling plan was different. Now, it is clear. Just something to point out.
Salt spray test: all EN2874, EN3444 and EN4134 bolt references were salt spray tested, but by sampling instead of 100% inspection. ISO9154:2023 still specifies a 100% salt spray test for Acceptance. From my point of view, I agree with carrying out this test on samples and not on whole batches. Salt spray test is seen as a destructive test as per ISO9154 (and by its nature).
Additional information: the latest issue of ISO9154 is dated 2023.
    Many thanks in advance

    1. Hello Julien,

Below are the responses to the comments:
EN2874-100: EN2874-100010P bolts are too short to be fatigue and double shear tested. Shall we have a chance to get results from similar parts or longer EN2874-100 bolts?
=> You will find on the ASD-Cert website the certificate of conformity for OF 9002598 EN2874H100021 on which we have fatigue and double shear results.

      EN3444H050:
EN3444H050003 bolts are too short to be fatigue and double shear tested. Shall we have a chance to get results from similar parts or longer EN3444-050 bolts?
=> We do not have similar parts (INCONEL 718 Classification 1250 MPa).

      EN3444-060:
EN3444-060004 bolts are too short to be fatigue and double shear tested. Shall we have a chance to get results from similar parts or longer EN3444-060 bolts?
=> We do not have similar parts (INCONEL 718 Classification 1250 MPa).

      EN3444D080:
EN3444D080 bolts have spit pin holes in threaded area. Could you please confirm that no completion of fatigue test is linked to the presence of this split pin hole?
=> Yes, the fatigue test is not carried out on this part because of the thread drilling. However, EN3444-100024 has fatigue and double shear results.

      Best regards,
      Nicolas Arlabosse

  2. Hi Nicolas,

As for qualification 1579, many thanks for your answers.
All is clear for me now, so, approved from my side.
    Best regards
    Julien
