Dear all,
Raw material: no reference to EN raw material standards in Carpenter’s material certificate.
Manufacturing process section on ASD-CERT website: passivation is carried out against AMS2700 whereas EN2516 is mentioned in test report. Moreover, this nut is silver plated (EN2786 / AMS2411). Could you please clarify?
Many thanks in advance
Best regards
Julien
Dear Julien,
The answer to your questionns prepared by Stefano Giacometti (Paolo Astori):
– Raw material: no reference to EN raw material standards in Carpenter’s material certificate.
–> Raw material used is A286 per AMS5731. It has the same chemistry of EN2399 / EN3639 called by dwg (see also cross reference listed on TR3791). New raw material batches report the conformity to EN specs also. See attached a raw material cert as example with EN certification also.
– Manufacturing process section on ASD-CERT website: passivation is carried out against AMS2700 whereas EN2516 is mentioned in test report.
–> Parts have been passivated per EN2516 ( meeting also AMS2700 requirements). FAI and TR reports EN2516 specification.
– Moreover, this nut is silver plated (EN2786 / AMS2411). Could you please clarify?
–> Passivation is commonly used on CRES parts as a pre-cleaning process before silver plating even if not directly called out by the drawing.
Dear Piero, Dear Stefano,
All is clear for me now, approved from my side.
Thank you.
Best regards
Julien
