Both parts (nuts and washers) have been cadmium plated as per EN2133.
These parts have been baked after cadmium plating to avoid any risk of hydrogen embrittlement (according to EN2133).
In QTR, if I correctly observe pictures in section 2.5, only nuts have undergone salt spray test to reach 336 hours without detecting any red rust after testing.
Why captive washers have not been salt spray tested as well? I understand that, when assembled, we have retention areas in between nuts and washers, but when tested separately, this is not the case.
Many thanks in advance
Best regards
Julien
On behalf of Mrs. Genevieve Lacombe hereafter our reply :
In QTR 9203 the salt spray test was performed on parts whitout the washers. We have performed a new corrosion salt spray tests on the parts ( with captive washers) and we have updated the QTR ( See QTR 9203A included).
Genevieve/Nadege
